關於國際學生是否可在美國當護士 - 工作

各位大大您好,
我目前是在美國當國際學生 (升12年級)
準備要申請大學了
我想請問
我如果在大學選擇念Nursing的話,
畢業了之後就可以考護士執照嗎? 然後留在那邊工作?
會不會有什麼簽證之類的問題?

I thought we will have to get a BSN degree in order to get a RN license....?!

既然你說是國際學生,你應該是非移民身分停留在美國. 當你完成Nursing diploma然後考上RN,一班醫院會希望你有實習機驗. 因為你不是美國籍,現在的醫院都會另外有個語言測試. 他們要確定你在溝通上沒有問題.
是的,你畢業後,如果沒有其他合法身分留在美國,你可以申請OPT在美國最多一年. 在這期間你需要找到雇主願意僱用你,幫你申請HIB身分. 所謂的簽證是如果你要離開美國在入境才需要的. 在OPT期間還是學生簽證. 轉成HIB就要改成H1 visa 也就是所謂的工作簽證.
我認識一些在台灣當護士的,來不是因為RN考不過就是因為英文不好沒有醫院願意雇用. 最後都還是回台灣了.

The best you can do is Associate of Science in Nursing (A.S. Nursing).
Most RN programs have a long waitlist. And universities (4-year) prefer you have the RN license before you can go for BSN.
In answering your question:
1. Yes - assuming you meet other requirements.
2. No - although Nursing is a major that offers lot of opportunities, it does not mean you will be easier.
Hospitals tend to "import" skilled labor instead of getting fresh.
3. Unable to answer - your question is not clear.

No. As a fact, for RNs, the minimum qualification in a lot of countries is not BSN.

You have to find a hospital or medical office that will not only hire you but jump through the hoops to help you obtain H1B. Wait for Gary he knows more.
