臨時告知改約聘 - 面試

上週至某廣告公司面試後成功錄取
原先確認是明天開始上班
但今天臨時接到電話告知
因缺的位置已經補上新人
所以人資說先以「約聘」方式先進入公司
薪水比面試時談的一樣,福利沒提(我怎麼笨到沒問..)
請問這樣是合法的嗎?
總覺得事情哪裡怪怪的但又不太懂..
有大大遇過類似狀況嗎..
